Free Flashcards That Actually Stick
Flip, recall, repeat. StudyBonk flashcards pair active recall with a Leitner spaced-repetition schedule, so cards you're about to forget come back exactly when you need them. Use built-in decks for any topic or build your own in seconds.

Built-in decks for every topic
Every topic guide on StudyBonk ships with a matching flashcard deck — key terms, formulas, dates and concepts, written to be quizzable, not just readable. Open the deck library, pick a topic, and start flipping.
Decks are organized by pillar (math, biology, chemistry, physics, history, SAT prep, study skills), so you can always find the deck that matches what's on tomorrow's test.
- One deck per topic guide, dozens of decks in total
- Flip with click, tap, or the space bar
- Rate each card Again / Hard / Good / Easy
- Scheduling is automatic — due cards surface first
Spaced repetition without the setup
StudyBonk uses the Leitner system: every card lives in a box (1–6). Answer well and the card moves up a box and comes back later; forget it and it drops back to box one. The result is the forgetting curve being interrupted at exactly the right moments.
Your box positions and due dates are saved locally in your browser, so your schedule follows you between sessions on the same device — no account required.
- Box intervals: today → 1 day → 3 days → 7 days → 16 days → 35 days
- "Again" always resets a card to box one
- Due cards are shuffled to the front of each session
- Everything stores locally — private by default
Instant importer: PDF, notes or URL to flashcards
Got a lecture PDF, messy notes, or an article open in another tab? Drop it into the instant importer and StudyBonk builds a deck on the spot — no account, no upload, no waiting. The PDF is parsed entirely inside your browser; the file never leaves your device.
The importer recognizes the formats students actually use: “term | definition” lines, “Q:/A:” pairs, “term - definition” lists, and definition sentences (“Osmosis is…”). When the text has no clear structure, it falls back to cloze cards — the sentence with its key term blanked out, which is one of the strongest memory formats there is.
- Upload a PDF (up to 60 pages, parsed locally), .txt, .md or .csv
- Paste any text — notes, chapters, vocab lists
- Fetch a URL directly (works where sites allow cross-site reading)
- Automatic format detection: pipes, Q/A, definitions, cloze
- Every imported deck is saved locally, exportable as JSON
Build your own decks (and keep them)
Paste your notes as "front | back" lines and StudyBonk builds a custom deck instantly. Custom decks live in your browser alongside your progress, and you can export them as JSON to back up or share with a friend — the file goes device to device, never through a server.
- Create decks from "front | back" lines in seconds
- Export and import any deck as a JSON file
- Custom decks earn the Deck Builder badge
- Delete anything, any time — it's your data
